I woke up this morning and went downstairs for breakfast. I put on a pot of hot water and opened the refrigerator. I was startled to find that my fridge had been transformed into an organic landscape from Whole Foods. Whole Foods butter, cream cheese, milk, jam, juice, vegetables, fruits, and so on. My parents have finally hit the Whole Food craze of over-priced yuppified “natural” groceries. I’ve always been one for going to the family-oriented Cal-Mart which stays alive simply by being located in Laurel Village in Pacific Heights supplemented with an occasional cost-saving trip to Costco for lager items in bulk. But now, on this Father’s Day, the kitchen has changed dramatically.
