Tibet Railway and the Nuclear Opt in HK

Some fun HK and China items:

Britain contemplated nuclear defense of Hong Kong – Yahoo News

China’s Tibet railway ready to go – Yahoo News

710 miles long, the route will take tourists and workers from central China way over to Tibet, a route which is particularly harsh because it’s all mountains. In fact the train goes up to 16,500 feet up and has to use enriched oxygen and anti-permafrost technologies to keep passengers from running into issues. The “sky train” is the highest in the world but is controversial because of the cost, environmental issues, and possible uses (bringing too many tourists to Tibet?).
