Earlier this year, Middlebury College’s Office of Institutional Diversity (OID) published a new multicultural brochure that replaced years of ridiculous race-targeted admissions brochures (one for Black kids, another for Latinos, etc.). The mini-book is titled, “Self-Described: Voices of the Middlebury Community”. I am one of the twenty or so people featured.
The online (ugly) edition is up now and you can read my blurb (and others). Yes, they spelled my last name wrong.
In conversations with OID this year, they said this type of diversity brochure was fairly progressive for higher education institutions. True or False? Feel free to leave comments.
