This weekend marked the completion of the CET program here in Beijing. We “celebrated” by going to the countryside on a “language practicum” that was designed to give us practice in Chinese but also expose us to cultural elements.
While most students joked about arriving in the “countryside” and staying at a rather good hotel, we actually did visit the a rural village of Beijing for a few hours this morning. Although it was clearly all paid for and designed ahead-of-time by CET, it was insightful.
Short post, sorry. I have to head out to the train station. To Xi’an and beyond! I will post soon!
