Wei? (That’s the greeting you give when picking up the phone in Chinese)
Zhe shi RYAN ma? (Is this Ryan?)
Shi de. (Yep.)
And so it began. My first interview, in Chinese. It was kinda like a pop-interview. Surprise! You’re being interviewed! And it didn’t go so bad except for me stumbling over my words in every other sentence. But then again, Chinese students in first year Chinese learn how to talk about themselves most so it couldn’t have been that bad. The lady I talked to had very standard Mandarin so I was impressed as hell after listening to my Taichi teacher speak for an hour and half (of which I probably understood 20% of what he said during that time).
